Venues rent you the room and hold you responsible for every mark in it. We coat the floors and finishes before load-in and peel it off after the trucks leave.
The damage happens in the two hours nobody plans for.
Load-in and load-out are when floors get gouged, walls get scraped and the venue’s damage clause gets invoked. Rigging, staging, forklifts, cases and carts all cross a finished surface on a clock — usually in the dark, usually behind schedule.
Venue damage clauses
You signed for the condition of the room. Marble lobbies, ballroom parquet and arena concourse floors all come with a number attached if they get marked.
No time to re-lay board
Board that has to be cut, taped and re-taped doesn’t survive a load-in and can’t be reset between sessions on a tight turn.
It has to look intentional
Guests walk this floor. Taped-together board in a ballroom or a branded activation reads as unfinished — a uniform coated surface doesn’t.
